Founded by Adama Amanda Ndiaye · Dakar, 2001A dama Amanda Ndiaye founded Dakar Fashion Week in 2001, when the idea of a fashion week on the continent was still treated as a side note in Paris and Milan. Twenty-five years on, it is the oldest in Africa, and one of the most consequential, a working showcase for designers from Senegal, Mali, Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Morocco and beyond. Guzangs began covering the week in 2024 and reports on it in full each season.

The Next Chapter
A quarter century, on the Atlantic.
The twenty-fifth edition runs from 1 to 6 December 2026. The programme includes a retrospective of Ndiaye’s work and runway slots for the designers she has shown alongside since 2001. Venues are to be announced.1-6 December 2026 · Dakar, Senegal
