Marist College, in collaboration with Steel Plant Studios & Gallery and Guzangs, presents Alternative Realities: Modern and Contemporary African Fashion, A View from the Continent. This exhibition showcases the innovation, diversity, and cultural significance of African fashion, featuring designs from fourteen acclaimed designers from Africa.

Weaving Narratives Through African Fashion

Spanning from Nigeria to South Africa, these designers’ works emphasize sustainability, with textiles ranging from batik to recycled fabric scraps, showcasing the vibrant creativity shaping contemporary African fashion. 

Visitors can immerse themselves in a journey of diverse styles, interactive displays, and the sounds and music of Africa, all designed to provide a deep dive into the richness and evolving narratives of African fashion.

HERTUNBA
Nigerian based Hertunba, founded by Florentina Agu, is a sustainable luxury couture brand that empowers women through elegant, feminine designs and a deep commitment to the environment.
